The Cozo Filters factory in the Philippines serves as the core hub of our mass production system.
Since the establishment of our local subsidiary in 1995, we have taken root in the Mactan Economic Zone on Cebu Island. In 2025, we celebrate the milestone of our 30th anniversary.
Cebu, the second-largest city in the Philippines, is an ideal location for manufacturing, where rich natural surroundings coexist with well-developed infrastructure. In particular, the Mactan Economic Zone where our factory is located is designed specifically for export-oriented industries, offering robust support in terms of power supply, transportation, and workforce.
From this place, we deliver our products to the world, crossing borders with confidence.
The region attracts a highly educated and ambitious workforce. Believing in their potential, we have carefully transferred the designs and technologies refined at our Sano Factory in Japan, turning them into tangible quality on Cebu soil.
From cutting and polishing of optical glass to washing, coating, assembly, inspection, and shipment—
every step of the process is conducted locally. This integrated production system allows us to maintain Japanese-quality standards while achieving both stability and excellence in manufacturing.

Integrated Production System at the Cozo Filters Philippine Factory
The Cozo Filters factory in Cebu, Philippines, functions as our primary mass production hub for camera lens filters, with a fully integrated in-house manufacturing system.
Based on designs and developments from our Sano Factory in Japan, we carry out all production processes locally—from start to finish—ensuring both high quality and stable supply.
1. Glass Material Preparation
We carefully select and manage high-quality optical glass materials suitable for filter production.
2. Cutting Process
Glass materials are precisely cut to the required dimensions and shapes using high-precision equipment.
3. Polishing Process
Surfaces are polished to optical-level flatness to enhance transparency and ensure superior optical performance.
4. Washing Process
Multiple ultrasonic cleaning steps remove fine particles and impurities, ensuring a pristine surface.
5. Coating Process
Specialized coatings—such as anti-reflection (AR) or neutral density (ND)—are applied based on the intended use of each filter.
6. Lamination Process
Functional layers such as polarizing film or diffusion particles are carefully laminated between two sheets of glass with high precision.
7. Assembly Process
Glass elements are fitted into frames to form complete filters.
8. Printing and Engraving Process
Logos and specifications are printed or laser-engraved onto the filter frames.
9. Final Inspection and Packaging
Each filter is strictly inspected for appearance, size, and optics before packaging.
Quality Control System
At the Cozo Filters factory in the Philippines, we uphold a philosophy of “Made-in-Japan quality,” establishing a strict quality control system that mirrors our standards in Japan.
In addition to inspection criteria defined for each production stage, we conduct 100% final inspections for appearance, dimensions, and optical performance. Specialized measuring instruments and experienced inspectors work together under a multilayered system to ensure that even the slightest abnormalities are detected.
Human resource development is also key to maintaining quality. In close collaboration with our Sano plant in Japan, we continuously provide skill training and foster a culture where every team member takes ownership of product quality and actively engages in improvement initiatives.
